Wee Windaes Teaching Resources
The Wee Windaes website, from National Library of Scotland, features a range of freely available digitised Scots texts.
Each text has an introduction (written by Scots Scriever, Hamish MacDonald), an audio sample to listen to, and many have associated videos and teaching resources.
The teaching resources are designed for children and young people at Primary and Secondary school. They mainly focus on literacy skills, for example:
- ‘The Deil in Scotland’ has an associated writing activity for Primary and reading activities for Secondary;
- ‘Elizabeth Melville, Lady of Culross’ has an associated listening and talking activity for Primary;
- ‘Alexander Rodger’ has associated writing tasks for Primary and Secondary.
