From shore to shore
To mark the Year of Coasts and Waters, National Library of Scotland have published a new site called ‘From shore to shore’.
The site features some photographs from the MacKinnon Collection, with images from the East, West and North coasts of Scotland; including the Islands communities.
The Resources section has maps, selected moving images and downloadable pdfs in Scots, Gaelic and English.
The Scots resources have activities related to Talking and Listening, Reading an Image and Writing. The Listening resource was written to accompany ‘Awa tae the Sea’, which shows former fisherman James George Addison being interviewed by Frieda Morrison from Scots radio.
