The Scots Language: its Place in Education
Co-edited by Liz Niven and Robin Jackson, this book of 16 essays, presents the current status of and aspirations for the Scots language in education. Launched by the then minister for the Arts, Sam Galbraith, at Glasgow University, the Minister's foreword to the book states, 'This volume will provide a rich source of material for debate and discussion about the place of Scots within and beyond the curriculum in the years ahead.' Contributors include teachers, HMI, linguists, SQA, teacher-trainers and dictionary editors.
