The Scottish World on tour
15th July 2008
Billy Kay's 'Scottish World' will be at The Burn House, near Brechin, from 2.30pm, as part of the Brechin Arts Festival. Tickets cost 6.50. For more information please enquire with admin@brechinartsfestival.org. Billy, along with Rod Paterson, will celebrate the Scottish diaspora, and the influence the Scots had on world affairs, in song, music and story. Among the Scots songs on offer is the hymn Alteren's sacrament written by Peter Dass who came from 17th century Norway (but was the son of a Scots called Peter Dundas from Dundee), and also the Forfar Sojer which was put into North East Scots and which tells the story of the war in Portugal and Spain against Bonaparte in the early 1800s.
