Perth Day of Culture

The Perth Burns Club will be holding its annual Day of Scottish Life and Culture on Saturday 28 November 2015 at the Soutar Theatre, AK Bell Library, Perth from 1.15 to 5pm. Of particular interest to those in the Scots language community will be Andrew Clegg’s talk on the ‘Speak of the Mearns’ which highlights the work of Lewis Grassick Gibbon (aka James L Mitchell 1901-1935) author of Sunset Song and other works. In December a new film of Sunset Song, by Terence Davies, is due to be released.
Also speaking at the Day of Scottish Life and Culture will be Deborah Stewartby and Andy Hall on the novelist Buchan and photography. Entry is £10 which includes tea and coffee.
