Lorimer Trust cements relationship with Centre
7th December 2009
At a meeting held yesterday in Strathtummel, SLC convener, Dr Colin Milton, SLC vice convener, Cllr Kate Howie and SLC Director, Michael Hance were appointed as members of the W L Lorimer Memorial Trust. Four of the Trust’s existing members resigned to make way for the new members. The trustees also agreed to appoint Colin Milton to be convener of the Trust. This latest development is the culmination of two years of successful joint working between the organisations. Maggie Mackay, Director of the School of Scottish Studies who chaired the meeting described it as a “historic moment”. She praised the retiring members for the work they had done in raising awareness of the Scots translation of the New Testament. Robin Lorimer’s widow, Priscilla and their three surviving daughters, May, Christina and Katie, were present at the gathering.
