The Scots Language Centre is much saddened to hear of the death of Janet Paisley which took place on Friday 9 November 2018. Janet was aged 70. A noted poet and playwright in both English and Scots Janet was very active in support for the Scots language community. She was first published in 1979 and later became editor of New Writing Scotland as well as an organiser of Scottish PEN for women writers. She was a member of the Cross Party group for Scots in the Scottish parliament and a supporter of the SLC. Janet will be sadly missed.
