Scotland's First Scots Language Café Begins in Glasgow

Dr Lori Watson, the first doctor of artistic research in Scottish Music, and Dr Michael Dempster, the Scots Scriever are launching the first Scots Language Café in Glasgow on 1st September 2018. Taking place at the Project Café at 134 Renfrew Street Glasgow G3 6ST between 3pm and 5pm.
Thereafter it will be held on the evening of the first Wednesday of every month from 7pm to 9pm (starting Wednesday 3rd of October.)
The cafés will be free to attend and open to anyone with any level of Scots, be that Scots speakers who want to explore their own language in a friendly environment, those who have an understanding of Scots but have never used it coversationally or those who have never encountered the language and are absoloute beginners. (Donations for materials and refreshments are welcome.)
The first half of each session will consist of an exploration of many aspects of Scots, from vocabulary to regional dialects, to grammar and different approaches to spelling, to literature, through any more topical aspects of the language. The second half will consist of open conversation in Scots with extra support for beginners.
