The Scots Language Centre has announced that Sally Evans will join a growing list of new contributors to the Centre’s web site. Sally takes up the role of poetry editor this month choosing a poem by the late George Philp as her first ‘poem of the month’. George who died earlier this month was well known in the world of Scots poetry and literature and Sally has paid tribute to him with this month’s poem.
Sally joins traditional music expert, Steve Byrne, in helping to expand the Centre’s web site and develop new content. Centre Director, Michael Hance, has welcomed both appointments, ‘It’s great to have Sally and Steve working with us. They are both highly respected experts in their fields and they will play a vital role in keeping the site fresh and interesting.’
The Centre has also recently signed a contract with Edinburgh based Orbit Communications with the purpose of enhancing its campaigning and advocacy activities. Hance said, ‘While our budget remains unchanged from two years ago the Centre is restructuring in order to make more of the funding and donations we receive. We are delighted to be able to make these new appointments and pleased that Orbit Communications wlll be helping to make sure that our message is heard by as many Scots speakers as possible.’
