Writing our languages
16th April 2015
As part of Talkfest in Glasgow this
coming week there will be an interesting session called In Your Own Words
hosted by Catriona Lexy Campbell and Morna Young who are both writers working
largely in Scottish Gaelic and North East Scots (i.e. Doric). The two
playwrights have a number of talents including poetry, composition, theatre
performance, music and song. They will be speaking to their audience about Scotlands
native languages, the experience of writing in our native languages, and what
this can offer, including advice for others interested in developing their own
skills. There will also be some discussion of the art of storytelling which has
a long and well developed history in Scotland.
In Your Own Words will be at 2.30pm, Saturday 25 April 2015 in the Changing House, floor one of the Tron, 63 Trongate, Glasgow. Tickets cost 3. If you would like to book a ticket or find out more please visit the website at http://www.tron.co.uk/event/in-your-own-words/ or call the Tron Box Office on 0141 552 4267.
