Annual Collogue of Scots Language Society

Once again the Annual Collogue of the Scots Language Society will soon take place. It will be held on Saturday 7 June 2014 between 9.45am and 4.30pm at the Sandeman Room, AK Bell Library, York Place, Perth. This years topical theme is Independence an the Mither Tongue with speakers as follows: J Derrick McClure (Aberdeen) - Independence of the mither tongue: breaking the kailyard bounds, Michael Hance (Director of the Scots Language Centre) Devolved Scots: progress of the language since 1997, Robert Miller (Aberdeen) National language revivals, successes and failures: which is Scots?, and Timothy Neat MacDiarmid, MacLean and Henderson: stands Scotland where it did?.
