Kay's Scots Tongue at 30
15th August 2016
It is thirty years since broadcaster and writer Billy Kay presented his pioneering radio series The Scots Tongue, which led also to a TV spin-off and book. Now in celebration of that landmark the series will be broadcast again on BBC Radio Scotland from 16 August to 27 September 2016. The six original programmes have now been edited with new introductions from Billy together with material from new contributors. In addition, a new seventh episode has been added (called The Future’s Oors) which includes interviews and comments from leading Scots language campaigners and professionals from various walks of life today. This will be broadcast on 27 September. The episodes will be repeated on Sundays and are also available on iPlayer for 30 days afterwards.
