Scottish Language Dictionaries recently announced that they are developing an app for their dictionaries. The SLD was first founded back in the 1920’s and has been the lead organisation for researching and developing dictionaries and other guides to the Scots language in both its spoken and written varieties. The new Scots dictionary app will be focussed first on schools use, but it is expected this will develop further to include wider society too. As an important part of the development process, SLD have established an online questionnaire which they are inviting members of the public to fill in. The questions include whether or not you are a Scots speaker, which dialect region you belong to, whether you are a teacher or student, and when and where you use Scots.
