Book Week Scotland 2020

Once again the annual Book Week Scotland has arrived, sponsored by Creative Scotland and the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC). This annual event celebrates books and reading in Scotland and comprises a variety of authors and members of the public reading and discussing works in a variety of locations. There are also a variety of languages on show, including Scots. This year the Scots-related content includes Stuart Paterson reading from The Body Wha Plantit Trees by Jean Gioni (Tuesday 17 November, 19.30-20.30), Jim Dingley and Petra Reid discussing the English and Scots translations of Alindarka’s Children by Alhierd Bachaveric (Thursday 19 November, 18-19.00), Hamish MacDonald on a digital nature walk discussing Wilson’s Ornithology and Burds in Scots (Saturday 21 November, 14-14.45), and storytelling with Jackie Ross in North East Scots (Doric) which will be uploaded to the Live Life Aberdeenshire website (Sunday 22 November, 14.30) and available for two weeks thereafter.
