As part of the Doric Festival, a new Open Competition for traditional singers is being held. Entrants must perform both a traditional ballad and any other type of song, in North East Scots. The winner will be given the title of 'The Doric Lintie', a trophy, and a prize of £50. Competition will be held at The Small Hall, Inverurie Town Hall, from 1pm.
