Aberdeen’s Gallowgate are holding a celebration of North East Scots – the Doric – in memory of Dean John Skinner (1721-1807), which will run from Wednesday 10 October until Friday 12 October. On Wednesday 10 there will be a lunchtime recital with a ‘Doric Twist’ at Aberdeen College Basement Theatre, 12.30-1pm. The College will also be interviewing Reverend Dr Emsley Nimmo – a supporter of the Scots language – live on air. That same evening there will be a ‘Scottish Fantasia’ from the Bon Accord Silver Band, in St Margaret of Scotland church, beginning at 7.30pm. .
