Doric Extravaganza 2

Aberdeen’s Gallowgate are holding a celebration of North East Scots – the Doric – in memory of Dean John Skinner (1721-1807), which will run from Wednesday 10 October until Friday 12 October. On Friday 12 October there will be a Scots service held at 12 noon in St Margaret of Scotland church, Gallowgate. In the evening there will also be a celebration of the Doric dialect held in the same church and hall, beginning at 7pm. This will include poetry, music and song from, among others, Sheena Blackhall, Charles Beaton, and Sandy Cheyne. Tickets costing £8 include refreshments and may be obtained at the door.
