Voices of Scotland
10th August 2017
The Saltire Society is hosting a number of events celebrating the Scottish oral tradition which will centre on Hamish Henderson (1919-2002) who was, of course, a leading light in the Scottish folk revival after 1945. Artist Alexander Moffat will unveil his new painting Scotland’s Voices on 11 August accompanied with music by Aly Bain and Alan MacDonald. On 18 August Alison McMorland will be talking about the work and influence of Hamish Henderson and on 1 September Douglas Eadie’s film Hamish will also be screened.
All these events will take place at the Saltire Society, 9 Fountain Close, Edinburgh, from 7.30pm. Events are free but as space is limited please contact Programme Director Sarah Mason to book a seat on 0131 556 1836.
