Education Scotland have published a report outlining the benefits of learning Scots. The report, entitled ‘Scots language in Curriculum for Excellence: enhancing skills in literacy, developing successful learners and confident individuals’, is based on observations and interviews with teachers and learners.

The report affirms that using Scots can engage learners, raise confidence and enhance literacy skills and will be of interest to anyone who is interested in the teaching and learning of Scots in the classroom. It supports the range of teaching resources and guidance already produced by Education Scotland.
