Day of Scottish Culture

The Perth Burns Club will be hosting its 12th Day of Scottish Life and Culture, in celebration of St Andrew’s Day, on Saturday 26 November 2016. This event will be held in the Soutar Theatre, AK Bell Library, Perth, from 1.15 to 5pm. As usual, the day will touch on the Scots language. Speakers this year are storyteller Jess Smith who will speak about the witch legends surrounding Kate Macniven of Monzie and Maggie Walls of Dunning, Professor Ted Cowan on the war rhymes of Robert Service, and film director Elly Taylor who will introduce her film about the American poet Maya Angelou who was inspired by Robert Burns.
Tickets for this event are £10 (including tea and coffee) and may be purchased from Concorde Music, 17 Scott Street, Perth, or the AK Bell Library, York Place, Perth, or from Elliott Boyle at the Burns Club.
