Singing The Reformation 2016
7th March 2016
For amateur singers with an interest in early music and the Scots language there is still time to apply to take part in ‘Singing The Reformation 2016’. This project, which is based at the University of Edinburgh, seeks to recreate the religious services, music and singing of 16th and 17th century Scots-speaking Scotland.
Amateur singers are cordially invited to apply to take part in this unique project. There will be a day of registration on Saturday 19 March in which Scots language coaching and rehearsals will take place. This will be followed during Friday 15 to Sunday 17 April with more rehearsal, recordings and the recreation of a full church service in Scots at the church of St Mary’s, Haddington.
