Sangschaw 2017 deadline

Budding writers in Scots are reminded that the deadline for Sangschaw 2017 is fast approaching. The Scots Language Society which runs this yearly event has called for entries of original poetry, translations of poems, and short stories. Prose should not be longer than 3,000 words and poetry not more than 60 lines. It is £50 per entry or £12 for three entries, with cheques made payable to the ‘Scots Language Society’. Submissions should be original, unpublished pieces, with each entry on a separate sheet accompanied by name, address and details on another separate sheet. Entries must be posted to Sangschaw c/o 6 Dryden Place, Edinburgh EH9 1RP to arrive no later than 31 January 2017. The first prize in each category is £100 with runners up of £50.
