Doric Festival Gets Underway

The 17th annual Doric Festival, a celebration of North East Scots language and culture, takes place this month. The Festival brings together singers, musicians, storytellers, poets and language enthusiasts. Events include a number of bothy and Doric nights held around the North East with exhibitions in several regional libraries. Highlights of the Festival will include the annual Doric Writing Competition Awards, in Huntly, and the new Open Competition for traditional singers in Scots, to be held in Inverurie.
